The ZZF is connected to researchers from Germany and abroad through various fellowships that contribute to the networking and internationalization of research at the ZZF. These programs include the Leibniz Summer Fellows, Visiting Fellows, Senior Fellows, and a Post-Doc Fellowship.
The annual Leibniz Summer Fellowships are aimed at advanced postdoctoral researchers from abroad and enable them to pursue their own research projects for a period of two months in which Summer Fellows work with the ZZF's research departments and present their findings in the institute's colloquium.
In addition, the ZZF regularly hosts Visiting Fellows who come to the institute as guest researchers with their own funding. These include Leibniz-DAAD Fellows, Fellows of the Leibniz Research Alliance ‘Value of the Past’, and scholarship holders of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
In addition to the Visiting Fellows, national and international researchers with a post-doctoral fellowship also conduct research at the ZZF.
The ZZF also awards Senior Fellowships to outstanding researchers who have previously held management or advisory board positions at the ZZF. Senior Fellows are given access to the ZZF's institutional facilities.
