The Leibniz Lab "Upheavals and Transformations" will bring together, discuss and communicate the research of 28 Leibniz institutions. It aims to learn from previous crises and upheavals for the present and future. In particular, the dynamic changes after 1990 are associated with those of the present. The focus is on changes in the economy, the environment and political cultures.
The ZZF Potsdam is taking on a leading role in the new Leibniz Lab together with the Leibniz Institute for Regional Geography (IfL) in Leipzig. For example, four new positions will be set up at the ZZF for the synthesis of knowledge, the curation of exhibitions and for citizen science projects. The 28 participating Leibniz institutions are carrying out new transfer projects.
The lab will bundle the extensive knowledge of the participating institutes in order to analyze how to deal with social upheavals. The aim is to create innovative transfer formats for politics, the public and society, for example through interactive exhibitions and contributions on YouTube and TikTok. In addition, dialogue-oriented communication with different target groups is planned. Citizens are involved in the research and mediation process.
