The ZZF on social media
Various social networks offer the opportunity to find out about current activities at the ZZF and to get in touch with the institute. We use our accounts to share posts about current activities, research results, job vacancies, media coverage and events at the institute.
We look forward to the exchange with you. We are currently active on the following channels:
On Instagram, we provide information about the entire range of publications and activities at the ZZF. This includes current events, new books, podcasts and media coverage, job vacancies, completed dissertations and important developments at the institute. We have also recently started publishing short videos (reels) on various topics in contemporary history.
Bluesky
On Bluesky, we provide concise and up-to-date information about media coverage, events, publications, research results and job vacancies at the institute.
In our posts on LinkedIn, we focus in particular on our institute, the research work carried out here and current job vacancies.
You can also use Facebook to find out about the latest publications and events at the ZZF, as well as current job vacancies.
YouTube
On YouTube, we publish recordings of ZZF events, lectures by ZZF researchers and, at irregular intervals, short documentaries on ZZF projects.
The ZZF's social media accounts are managed by the Public Relations Department. In addition to the ZZF's channels, online portals such as zeitgeschichte|online and Visual History also maintain their own social media accounts. Responsibility for these channels lies with the respective editorial teams.
Rules for using the ZZF social media channels
We are delighted that you are interested in the Leibniz Centre for Contemporary History Potsdam (ZZF) and would like to join our social media channels.
The ZZF's research work deals with a wide range of topics in contemporary history. What they have in common is that many of the developments examined are still ongoing or continue to have an impact and shape our societies to this day.
We are interested in an open exchange on these topics and want to promote historical education and current discourse on contemporary history and its significance for society. New information and different perspectives enrich a topic – but they can also give rise to controversies and the potential for conflict. We support an open and diverse culture of discussion – as long as the exchange of opinions is constructive, objective and respectful.
We would like to encourage you to participate in discussions in the digital space, comment on posts or share them with your network. In the interest of a pleasant, constructive discussion climate, we ask that you adhere to a few rules.
The following will not be tolerated:
- Insults, defamation or slander,
- vulgar expressions or deliberate provocation,
- sexist, homophobic or transphobic content,
- racist content,
- anti-Semitic content,
- extremist content,
- pornographic content,
- language that discriminates against discussion participants and others on the basis of personal characteristics,
- glorification of violence,
- incitement to commit crimes and other criminally relevant content,
- links to sites whose content violates these limits,
- violations of personal rights, copyright or applicable data protection guidelines,
- commercial advertising and spam.
By interacting on our social media channels, you agree to our rules.
All users are solely responsible for their posts. Nevertheless, we reserve the right to delete posts, report them and, if necessary, block the author if posts do not comply with our rules. We will report (hateful) comments that are criminally relevant or violate the German Basic Law to the network operator and law enforcement authorities.
