Zeithistorische Studien (Contemporary Historical Studies) has appeared as the Centre’s in-house series since 1993 and is published by Boehlau Verlag. Documenting the scholarly endeavours of the institute, the series has currently published 62 volumes (as of July 2024) on the history of the Soviet zone of occupation and the German Democratic Republic (GDR), Germany’s postwar division, as well as the history of Central and Eastern Europe after 1945.
