Reiner Zilkenat (1958–2020), historian, focused his research on the history of the German labour movement, the Weimar Republic and the rise of the NSDAP. The 103 volumes on the global economy, social and economic history and foreign policy of the Federal Republic of Germany, on questions of the relationship between socialism and capitalism and, after 1990, on the reappraisal of the GDR, which were taken over from his estate in 2020, reflect his wide-ranging interests.
