Jochen Laufer (1956–2016), historian, belonged to the first generation of academic staff at the ZZF. After his sudden death, the ZZF took over 265 volumes of his working library, which focussed on German-Russian relations and reflected Jochen Laufer's work on a comprehensive source edition on the USSR and the German question between 1941 and 1953.
