Clemens Burrichter (1932–2012), historian and sociologist, received his doctorate in 1967 with a thesis on ‘Television and Democracy’. He was Deputy Director from 1968 and Director of the Instituts für Gesellschaft und Wissenschaft (Institute for Society and Science) from 1980, and Honorary Professor at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg from 1990. In 2012, the ZZF took over Burrichter's estate library, which has been catalogued and made available in 2019.
