Digital exhibition project

The FHXB Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg Museum has an extensive collection of historical postcards from and about the Berlin district of Kreuzberg before 1945. 5,600 cards are being digitised, indexed and presented to the public in a digiS-funded project entitled ‘The Peter Plewka Collection - Kreuzberg before 1945 in historical postcards’. Under the direction of Irmgard Zündorf, public history students are developing an online presentation of selected postcards. The students will present the maps they have selected and tell the story or stories associated with them. In addition, the students will write texts for the ZZF's Visual History internet portal on their main topics in the exhibition.
The results will become part of a digital presentation that the FHXB Museum will publish as part of an exhibition from 11 October 2024. The concept, research and texts for the digital presentation were created by students on the Master's degree programme in Public History.
The students' work will be supervised by the FHXB Museum, a design office commissioned by the FHXB Museum and Irmgard Zündorf (ZZF).
