The aim of the project „Leo Trotzki oder: Sozialismus gegen Antisemitismus“ (Leon Trotsky or: Socialism versus Anti-Semitism) was an edition of Trotsky’s writings on anti-Semitism in Russia and Germany, which he wrote between 1909 and his assassination in 1940. Most of these texts are not yet available in German. An extensive introduction places Trotsky’s texts on anti-Semitism in the context of his world-revolutionary expectation as well as his disillusionment in the age of anti-Semitism, Fascism and Stalinism. Particular attention was paid to Trotsky’s warnings of Hitler’s anti-Semitism. In 1938 Trotsky anticipated the complete extermination of the Jews under Hitler.
