Under the Brecht motto "The simple that is difficult to do", the new issue of "Arbeit - Bewegung - Geschichte. Zeitschrift für historische Studien" ("Labour - Movement - History. Journal for historical studies"), which deals with the current state of historical research into communism. It is dedicated to Mario Keßler, who will remain with the ZZF as a Senior Fellow after his retirement. After all, Mario Keßler will certainly continue to work and write books.
Labour has been the first word in the journal's title since 2016. Previously, it was called "JahrBuch für Forschungen zur Geschichte der Arbeiterbewegung" (Yearbook for Research on the History of the Labour Movement), which was less of a slogan and somewhat awkward. Nevertheless, exciting research findings, interviews and miscellanies on the German and international labour movement, social history and the history of the world of work as well as the history of democratic social movements were also published three times a year at the beginning of the 2000s. The journal's character as a forum for East-West dialogue should be emphasised, as should the inclusion of non-academic historical cultures in the form of independent archives, local associations and commemorative initiatives.
You can now browse the digital archive of the Yearbook on the homepage of the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung. All articles from the years 2002-2015 are freely accessible at https://www.fes.de/bibliothek/jahrbuch-fuer-forschungen-zur-geschichte-der-arbeiterbewegung
We hope you enjoy your research, which is now not difficult at all, but very easy to do.
