The workshop explores the transnational ties established by communist regimes and the relationship to their doctrine of "Socialist Internationalism". Starting in High Stalinism the papers presented will analyse relations between the USSR and countries of its European Empire, contacts between communist party-states and Western Europe and ties of the Soviet bloc to the emerging "Third World". An international publication on the subject is planned. Proceedings will be in English. Please register sending an email to noll [at] zzf-pdm [dot] de.
