The Leibniz Centre for Contemporary History (ZZF) Potsdam, Department I (Communism and Society), seeks to fill the part-time (50%) position of 

Coordinator (f/m/d) 

for the Horizon Europe-funded project ‘EUROPAST: FACING THE PAST. PUBLIC HISTORY FOR A STRONGER EUROPE’, starting from February 1st, 2025 for a 10-month period due to the project duration. The salary is paid according to the collective bargaining agreement for public employees in Germany (TV-L 9b). 

EUROPAST is a collaborative project run by researchers on public history from Vilnius University (VU), the Leibniz Centre for Contemporary History in Potsdam, Germany (ZZF), the Centre for European Studies at Lund University in Sweden (LU), and the Centre for Contemporary and Digital History in Luxembourg (C2DH). Through joint research, training and networking, supported by an integrated set of dissemination, exploitation and communication activities, the project will establish a long-lasting, interdisciplinary research network. The ZZF had been tasked with organizing three workshops in the field of public history connected to themes pertaining to the post-Soviet space. 

Tasks 
The successful candidate will be responsible for conceptualising and organizing the project’s summerschool and other events in 2025 based at the ZZF and will facilitate participation in events run by other members of the consortium. The position of the Coordinator will have a significant administrative component, including a reporting duty to the Coordinating Institution (VU), as well as liaison and organisational tasks associated with the project. The position is based within the Department ‘Communism and Society’ at the ZZF but will also be associated with both the Public Relations Department as well as the Section Public History at ZZF. 

Requirements 
Applicants must have a Bachelor degree in history or cultural studies or in a related field. The successful candidate must have experience in conceptualising and organizing public history events. Experience in project management and/or reporting, especially in ERC grant management, is advantageous. Fluent English language skills (min. C1 level) are a prerequisite.
