Sonja Hugi is a freelance historian, illustrator and graphic designer who works primarily in public history. She studied graphic design in Switzerland and history, media and communication studies and public history at Freie Universität Berlin. Since 2013 she has worked on various historical exhibitions, online projects and publications as a researcher, author, illustrator and graphic designer. She is an educator at the Berlin-Hohenschönhausen Memorial, a former Stasi prison, and at the Berlin Wall Memorial.
