The Zentrum für Zeithistorische Forschung / Centre for Contemporary History Potsdam (ZZF) is pleased to invite applications for up to three

Leibniz Summer Fellowships “German and European History in the 20th century”

for the academic year 2019 to study German and European History in the 20th century. These two-month fellowships provide an opportunity to pursue individual research in Germany while participating in the academic life of one of Germany’s major historical research centres. Founded in 1992, the ZZF covers a broad scope of Contemporary European History with currently four research departments “Communism and Society”, “Economic Thought and Practice”, “Regimes of the Social Sphere” and “Contemporary History in the Age of Media and Information”. The ZZF library holds approx. 80,000 items and subscribes to more than 100 periodicals. Since 2009, the ZZF has been a member of the Leibniz-Association.

Applicants must have at least postdoctoral status with an outstanding academic record. They are expected to pursue their own research. However applicants whose interests relate to the research departments of the ZZF will be preferred. Fellowship holders will be assigned to a research department and asked to present their current project in a seminar or colloquium.

The Leibniz Summer Fellowships carry a monthly grant of about 3,000 €. The funding is supposed to cover all expenses including travel, housing, and insurance. Fellows are expected to reside in Berlin or Potsdam for two consecutive months between April and October 2019. The ZZF will provide office space and other relevant facilities.

The application deadline is November 30, 2018. Decisions will be announced not later than December 31, 2018. Applications can be in English or German and must include:

• a letter of interest;
• a curriculum vitae;
• a list of publications;
• a project proposal not exceeding 1,500 word

Praktika am Zentrum für Zeithistorische Forschung Potsdam (ZZF)

Praktika in der Redaktion von Zeitgeschichte-online

Wir bieten Praktika in der Redaktion am Zentrum für Zeithistorische Forschung (http://www.zeitgeschichte-online.de)
Für jeweils drei Monate können Sie das Zentrum für Zeithistorische Forschung in Potsdam kennenlernen, an Kolloquien und Veranstaltungen teilnehmen und ein Praktikum in der Redaktion von Zeitgeschichte-online absolvieren.
Zu Ihren Aufgaben gehört die Recherche neuer Themen und Autoren, die Betreuung sowohl des Facebook- als auch des Twitter-Accounts des Portals. Sie werden in die täglichen Diskussionen um die Themensuche und Gestaltung des Portals involviert sein und an einem Relaunch der Seite mitwirken. 
Zu den laufenden Arbeitsaufgaben gehören die Pflege der Homepage, Bildrecherchen und die Einarbeitung neuer Inhalte und Themenschwerpunkte. Sie werden in das CMS Drupal eingearbeitet und werden selbstständig Artikel anlegen und publizieren. Bevor jedoch publiziert wird, müssen Texte akquiriert und redigiert und mit den Autor/innen über die jeweiligen Fassungen kommuniziert werden.
Das Praktikum erfordert jeweils 20 Stunden pro Woche, daher suchen wir BewerberInnen aus dem Raum Brandenburg und Berlin.

Rahmenbedingungen:
Die Redaktion bietet erst wieder ab Januar 2019 freie Praktikumsplätze für jeweils drei Monate Praktika in folgenden Zeiträumen an:

I.   1. Januar bis 31. März 2019
II.  1. April bis 30. Juni 2019
III. 1. Juli bis 30. September 2019
IV. 1. Oktober bis 31. Dezember 2019

Anforderungsprofil:
Bachelorabschluss, Studium der Geschichtswissenschaften und benachbarter Fächer, Publizistik- und Kommunikationswissenschaften, Informationswissenschaften, sehr gute Rechtschreibkenntnisse.

Leider können wir keine Pflichtpraktika vergüten.
