East-Berlin. Half a Capital

Ende des Projektes: November 2019

Completed Exhibition project in the City Museum Berlin

Project coordination at the ZZF: Dr. Jürgen Danyel und Dr. Hanno Hochmuth

The Leibniz Centre for Contemporary History, Potsdam, and the Municipal Museum Berlin prepared a joint exhibition on East Berlin. The exhibition was showed from 10 May to 9 November 2019 in the Ephraim-Palais in the Nikolaiviertel in Berlin. It provided new perspectives on the former metropolis of East Germany. The social and cultural dimensions of urban life in East Berlin were at the heart of the exhibition. Students of the Master’s programme Public History have developed modern opportunities for participation, which can be made use of in the museum as well as in the urban space of Berlin.
